What is Mobile Application Management (MAM)?

Mobile Application Management (MAM) refers to the set of tools and policies that organizations use to control and secure business applications on mobile devices. Unlike broader mobile device management (MDM), which oversees the entire device, MAM focuses specifically on managing app access, security, and functionality. It enables IT teams to enforce policies such as authentication requirements, data encryption, and remote app wiping without interfering with personal apps or data on an employee’s device. MAM is especially useful in bring-your-own-device (BYOD) environments, allowing organizations to protect corporate information while maintaining user privacy.
